Day One

Today wasn't too bad considering that my schedule is still fucked like none other. I really hate that none of my classes are close together in timing. I have a 9 AM class and then a 2 PM class on MWF. This means that I have an assload of time in the middle of the day where I have nothing to do other than work at the library, which is ok. Speaking of which, the librarians were really pleased to see me. Now that the student aids are back they have less crappy work to do since we get forced to do it all (go team Simpson Library!).

I suppose the one pain in the ass thing about this semester so far is that I can't make up my mind about what I want to take. I really only need to take my bio class (anatomy of chordates), everything else can be bullshit classes. The trouble comes when choosing these bullshit classes. I don't want to take anything hard or anything that requires a lot of time. For these reasons I keep switching stuff around. As of now I'm taking intro Sociology, intro Environmental Science, Dramatic Lit, and 2D art in addition to Anatomy of Chordates. I'm still trying to get into physics because I kinda need physics if I plan on going to grad school, but I suppose I could wait on physics if I have to. I feel like I should be taking a PE class, because I don't have anything else important to take, but none of the class times are ideal for my schedule, that and I'm scared of the regular gyms. Every time I pass by my muscles ache with the familiar burn of rapage.

So my two classes today went ok. I had sociology this morning at 9. I'm a little bit afraid of this class. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of reading and I don't know if I can only interpret the material in the course in a sociological manner. Dr. Olson stressed this concept--the idea of only looking at the subject matter from a sociological POV. I might have a bit of difficulty in turning off the biological/psychological/anthropological reasoning part of my brain.

Anatomy of Chordates (AoC) went as I expected it would. Dr. O'dell hasn't changed since Freshmen year. She's still overly thorough, yet very nice and approachable. My goal is to get an A in her class, which is an incredibly daunting task as AoC is a very difficult course. But I suppose all things are possible if I just put in enough time and effort. We shall see.

Olson is aMAZing. I adore her. She's so cute and excited about criminals and stuff!

Hi! It's Marshall...

Dr. Olson is really nice and her class isn't that bad. I was scared like you were but it isn't really bad at all. She tells you what you need to look at and how the sociologist looks at it. It's really quite simple! :)

Yeah that seems to be the general consensus about Dr. Olson's sociology classes. If nothing else the subject matter is kinda interesting.
